Explore the Carolina Low Country! The first stop on your journey is the world-famous Hammock Shops in historic Pawleys Island. Learn the rich history of the second oldest seaside resort in the nation. As you continue toward the enchanted City of Georgetown, you will discover that this beautiful land was first settled by the Spanish in 1526 (but it failed). It was re-founded by the English in 1729. Making it the third oldest city in South Carolina. The city has a multitude of historic buildings and landmarks. Your tour through the city’s historic district will provide you access to a multitude of colonial, revolutionary, pre-civil war, and Victorian buildings and homes. Many of which house unique shops, museums art galleries and restaurants. Of the more than 60 antebellum homes in the district, the Kaminski House stands out as one of the most impressive Georgian style structures. Built on the Sampit River, the house is typical of the Low Country “single house” style of the mid-18th century, meticulously preserved, the house offers antiques, architecture and history all wrapped up in a bow of southern hospitality. Then its on to the Georgetown Museum and the Rice Museum. Both showcasing over 300 years of history. The Prince George Winyah Episcopal (circa 1745) is one of very few original church buildings still used as a church today. The tour includes the building, the property and the graveyard.
A boat cruise  to visit Shell Island completes our adventure. This unspoiled Barrier Island offers a chance to see dolphins, turtles, eagles, shells and more. One never knows what Mother Nature might have in store?
